بيداري bedār-ī P s. f. Wakefulness, waking.

بهاؤن bhāʼoṅ H postpos. See بهاوين bhāweṅ. S. بهاونا भावना (r. भू Consider) bhāvanā, s. f. Consideration, anxiety, apprehension, contem- plation, thought, doubt, concern.

بهپکنا bhapaknā H (dakh.) v n. See بهبهکنا bha- bhaknā.

بهسنا bhasnā S̱. (r. भस Shine) v. n. To float.

بنمال ban-māl S̱. (वन A forest, and माला A garland) s. f. A garland of various flowers reaching to the feet: usually of the flowers of the tulsī (Ocymum sanctum), kunda (Jasminum multiflorum), mandār (Asclepias gigantea), pā- rijāta (Erythrina fulgens), and lotus.

بيلا bel-ā S̱. s. f. 1. Name of a shrub. (Jasminum zambac). 2. A cup. 3. An instrument of mu- sick resembling a fiddle.

بهگت bhagat भक्त S̱. s. m. See بهکت bhakt. بهگت کهيلنا bhagat-khelnā, v. n. To act (a play), to imitate, to mimick. بهگت هونا bhagat-honā, v. n. To be initiated as a devotee, to be affi- liated to a religious order. (This is peculiar to the low tribes. The initiation consists in putting a necklace of beads round the neck, and marking a circle on the forehead. After which, the initiated person is bound to refrain from the use of spirituous liquors, flesh, &c.).

بين بين bain-bain A adj. Intermediate (between good and evil); middling, passable, indifferent, tolerable.

برتها वृथा brithā S or brathā or vr̤ithā, adj. Abor- tive, vain, in vain.

باجنا bājnā S̱. (from वाद्य see باجا) v. n. To sound (as a musical instrument); to be pub- lished, to resound.
