بکٿ bukkaṭ H or بکٿا bukṭā, s. m. A claw.

بجي विजय वि and जय Victory bijai S. or vi-jaya, s. m. Triumph. بجي دسمي (विजयदशमी) bijai-dasamī (The victorious tenth) The tenth of Āsin sukl pachh̤, the anni- versary of Rāmaʼs victory over Rāvana.

بان bān P (used as an affix in compos. only) Keep- er, guardian; so, دربان dar-bān, Door-keeper; سگبان sag-bān, Dog-keeper. H.S̱. بان بان کرنا bāṅ bāṅ karnā, v. a. To prate idly, to talk foolishly.

باسک bāsak S̱. (वासुकि) s. m. The chief of serpents, which is fabled to support the universe, and which was used as a string to whirl the mountain Mandar in churning the ocean for the amr̤it, &c.

بهاگ جانا bhāg-jānā H v. n. To run away, to flee, to abscond.

بهل bhal H s. m. Side, direction. سرکي بهل sir ke bhal, Head-foremost, head-long.

بهچهـ bhachh S̱. (or bhaksh for भक्ष्य) 1. adj. Eat- able. 2. s. m. Food.
