بهونکس bhoṅkas H s. m. A wizard who preys upon children (or men or women) till he brings them to the grave.

بنٿانا banṭānā S̱. (r. वट Share out) v. a. To share, to divide, to participate.

بـﮩتايت bahutāyat बहुता S̱. s. f. Abundance, plenty, multitude.

بسبسانا bisbisānā H v. n. To yield a sound as in the fermentation of putrefying vegetables or of vinous liquors. See بج بجانا.

بهوندنا bhondnā H (dakh.) v. a. To deceive, &c. See فريب دينا under فريب fareb.

بالم bālam वल्लभ S̱. s. m. 1. A lover or be- loved person; a husband. 2. A kind of cloth. بالم کهيرا bālam khīrā, s. m. A sort of cucum- ber in season in the rains (a variety of Cucumis sativus).

برتن bartan H s. m. A dish, plate, basin, &c. ves- sel, utensil.

برنا barnā S̱. 1. (for वरुण) s. m. Name of a fruit tree (Cratæva tapia): see برن barun. 2. (from वर A bridegroom) v. a. To marry.

بـﮩشت bihisht P s. f. Paradise.

بسنت basant S (वसन्त) s. f. 1. The spring. 2. One of the Rāgs or musical modes of the Hindūs. 3. The name of the first of the six seasons, comprising Chait and Baisākh. 4. The small pox (a phrase peculiar to the Bangālīs). بسنت پهولنا basant phūlnā, v. n. To put forth the blossoms of mustard plants. آنکهون مين بسنت پهولني ānkhoṅ meṅ basant phūlnī, To dazzle. بسنت کي خبر basant kī ḵẖabar, Knowledge of, or care about, futurity.
