بهٿ کٿاٴي bhaṭ kaṭāʼī S̱. s. f. The name of a prickly plant. (Sola- num jacquini, Willd.).

بانکا bānkā S̱. (r. वक Bend, be crooked) s. m. 1. A fop, a beau, a coxcomb, a buck, a bravo, a bully. 2. A knife or hook to cut bamboo with. 3. s. f. Name of a river. 4. adj. Crooked, foppish, coxcombish, arrant.

بدهوا bidhawā S̱. s. m. The deity. See بدهاتا.

باندهنو bāndhnū S̱. (r. बध Bind) s. m. 1. A mode of dying, in which the cloth is tied in different places to prevent the parts tied from receiving the die. 2. Slander, plot, plan. 3. A kind of silk cloth. 4. A kind of parrot.

باچها bāchhā वत्स S̱. s. m. A calf, or the young of any animal.

بجهنا bujhnā H v. n. To be extinguished, to be put out, to be quenched (thirst), to be damped or dejected (the spirits, &c.).

بسما basmā A. (Arab. وسمه) s. m. Staining (par- ticularly, the beard: or women staining the legs, so as to have the appearance of being dressed in tight drawers, when they are in fact naked).

بنٿيت banṭait S̱. (r. वट Share out) s. m. Divi- der, distributer.

بنري banrī S̱. (see بنرا) s. f. A bride.

بشٿي bishṭī वृष्टि S̱. s. f. Rain. P. A. بشدّت ba-shiddat, With violence, excessively, violently.
