اپرچها a-parichchhā S̱. (अ and परीक्षा Trial, or- deal) s. f. Want of trial or proof.

آرامي ārām-ī P adj. A lover of ease; idle, sloth- ful.

اکلنا ukalnā S̱. (उत् and r. कल Cast) v. n. To boil. S. اکلوني अकुलिनी (from अ and कुल Family) akulinī, adj. f. Not of good family, ignoble, base (woman).

آب دهن āb-i-dahan P s. Water of the mouth; spittle.

امن amn A s. m. Security, safety. امن امان amn amān, s. m. Quarter, crying out for quarter.

اکیلنا ukelnā S̱. (उत् and r. किल Cast) v. a. To turn up.

آب گیر āb-gīr P s. A ditch in which water stands, a pond, an instrument like a broom for sprinkling water on a warp stretched for weaving.

افغان afg̠ẖān P 1. s. m. See فغان fig̠ẖān. 2. n. prop. A people, called also Paṭhāns, inha- biting the hilly country to the N. W. of Lāhaur. In their history, they pretend to derive their origin, as well as name, from Afg̠ẖān, whom they account a grandson of Malik Tālūt (king Saul). As to religion, they are Mahometans, notwithstanding the claim they set up to a Jew- ish extraction. (Plur. Arab. افاغنه afāg̠ẖina or Pers. افغانان afg̠ẖānān).

اتروانا utarwānā S̱. (caus. of اترنا) v. a. To cause to descend or alight.

آمده āmada P part. pass. (from آمدن) Come. H.S̱. آمڐادینا umḍā denā, v. a. To overflow.
