هديه hadīya A (from هدي Heb. ) s. m. 1. A

هلکا halkā H adj. Light (in weight or character), debased, mean, silly, easy, soft, cheap. هلکاپن halkā-pan, s. m. Lightness, levity, vanity, des- picableness. هلکا جاننا halkā jānnā, To disdain, to disesteem. هلکا کرنا halkā karnā, To lighten, exonerate, to ease, assuage, debase, abase, de- preciate, affront.

هرسا hursā S̱. (घर्ष r. घृष Rub, grind) s. m. A stone on which sandal wood is ground.

هير hīr H n. prop. Hero, the celebrated mistress of Leander, called by the Indians رانجها rānjhā, q. v.

هراينه harāyina P or har-āʼīn-a, adv. Necessarily, undoubtedly, at all events.

هون hūṅ हूम् S̱. adv. Too, also, yes, well, very, exactly.

هوتا جاتا hotā jātā S̱. s. m. Coming and going. S̱. H. هوتا رهيگا hotā rahegā, An expression used in reply to terms of abuse; implying that "what "you have said of me is applicable to yourself." Mīr says:-- تويون گاليان غيرکوشوق سي دي همين کچهہ کہيگا توهوتا رهيگا Tū yoṅ gāliyāṅ g̠ẖair ko shauḳ se de; hameṅ kuchh kahegā to hotā rahegā, Give this abuse, if you please, to some other person; what you say of me will recoil on yourself.

هاتها بانہي يا پاٴي کرنا hāthā-bāṅhī S̱. or -pāʼī karnā, To scuffle or struggle together.

هوکها haukhā H s. m. Cupidity, covetousness, greediness. S̱.P. هوکهہ فرني hawikh-firnī (हविष्य Rice mixed with ghī, and Pers. فرني A dish of rice, milk, and sugar) s. f. Rice and milk.
