هوجانا ho-jānā S̱. v. n. To have happened, to be- come.

هڙکا huṛḳā हुडुक्क S̱. s. m. Bar of a door.

هٿنا haṭnā H v. n. To go or fall back, to be driven back, to retire, recede, move, budge, shrink, flinch, to be defeated.

ه hā called هاي هوز hā-i-hawwaz and هاي مدوره hā-i-mudawwara, the twenty-seventh letter of the Arabic and thirty-first of the Persian alphabet, corresponds to ह in Sanskrit. It is one of the guttural letters, having the sound of the English h. When it occurs at the end of a word, it is either perceptible, which is called هاي ظاهريا جلي يا ملفوظي (hā-i-z̤āhir or -jalī, or -malfūz̤ī), as in بادشاه bādshāh, A king; or imperceptible مختفي يا مکتوبي (-muḵẖtafī or -maktūbī), as in بہانه bahāna, A pretence, به ba, With, &c. where it merely conveys the sound of fatʼḥa. In the formation of the plural with ها the هاي جلي of the singular is preserved;

Good-will, friendship. هوا حرص hawā-ḥirṣ, Covetousness, envy, greediness. هوا دار hawā-dār, 1. adj. Airy. 2. s. A lover. هوا داري hawā-dār-ī, s. f. Airiness. هوا دينا hawā-denā, To blow the coal, to foment a quarrel. هوا زدگي hawā-zada-gī, A disease so called, cold, catarrh. هوا سي بات کرنا hawā se bāt karnā, to rival the wind in speed. هوا سي لڙنا hawā se laṛnā (to quarrel with the wind) Implies a readiness to quarrel. هوا کرنا hawā karnā, 1. To fan. 2. To broach, to divulge, to disclose, to publish. هوا کهانا hawā khānā, 1. To take the air. 2. To walk about idly. هوا کي ببولي پهوڙنا hawā ke babūle phoṛnā. To build castles in the air. هوا گير hawā-gīr, A rocket- maker. هوا وهوس hawā-o-hawas, Lust, concu- piscence, sensuality, luxury, vanity, ambition. هوا هو جانا hawā ho jānā, To scamper off, to vanish, to disappear.

هٿکنا haṭaknā H v. n. To be repulsed, to be driven back, to retreat, move, stop, boggle.

هولڙ hūlaṛ H s. m. Tumult, uproar, alarm, dis- turbance.

هگ بهرنا hag bharnā S̱. v. n. To be polluted with excrement, to go to stool.
