هوا hawā A (from هوي Heb. and Aram. and ) s. f. 1. Lust, desire. 2. Love, affection. 3. Wind, air, atmosphere. هوا باندهکرجانا hawā bāndhkar jānā, To beat to windward. هوا بتانا hawā batānā, To reject oneʼs petition, to disap- point. هوا بندهنا hawā bandhnā, To appear. هوا بندي کرنا hawā-bandī karnā, 1. To build castles in the air. 2. To calumniate. هوا پرست hawā-parast, Vain, fickle, giddy, vola- tile. هوا پهرني hawā phirnī, To change condi- tion. هوا چهڙانا hawā chhuṛānā, To break wind. هوا خواه hawā-ḵẖẉāh, A friend, wellwisher, lover. هوا خواهي hawā-ḵẖẉāh-ī, s. f. Good-will, friendship. هوا حرص hawā-ḥirṣ, Covetousness, envy, greediness. هوا دار hawā-dār, 1. adj. Airy. 2. s. A lover. هوا داري hawā-dār-ī, s. f. Airiness. هوا دينا hawā-denā, To blow the coal, to foment a quarrel. هوا زدگي hawā-zada-gī, A disease so called, cold, catarrh. هوا سي بات کرنا hawā se bāt karnā, to rival the wind in speed. هوا سي لڙنا hawā se laṛnā (to quarrel with the wind) Implies a readiness to quarrel. هوا کرنا hawā karnā, 1. To fan. 2. To broach, to divulge, to disclose, to publish. هوا کهانا hawā khānā, 1. To take the air. 2. To walk about idly. هوا کي ببولي پهوڙنا hawā ke babūle phoṛnā. To build castles in the air. هوا گير hawā-gīr, A rocket- maker. هوا وهوس hawā-o-hawas, Lust, concu- piscence, sensuality, luxury, vanity, ambition. هوا هو جانا hawā ho jānā, To scamper off, to vanish, to disappear.
