الپ अल्प alp S adj. Little, small, few, short.

انریت an-rīt S̱. (अन् priv. and रीति Usage) s. f. Unmannerliness, ill-behaviour.

اوليت awwalīyat A (from اول awwal) s. f. Prio- rity, preeminence, excellence, superiority. A.P. اوليتر aulạ̄-tar (comp. of اوليٰٰ and the Pers. تر) adj. Better, best.

الہیت ilāhīyat A s. f. The divinity, godhead.

اوپر ūpar उपरि S̱. adv. Above, on, up, upon, upwards, over, outside, at, atop, past. s. m. Top, outside, exterior. اوپرسي ūpar se, From above, over; as, طوفان اوپرسي چلاگيا t̤ūfān ūpar se chalā gayā, The storm passed over.

آرتا ārtā आरात्रिक S̱. s. m. A ceremony attending marriage. When the bridegroom first comes to the house of the bride, he is received by her relations, who present to him, and move circularly round his head, a platter painted and divided into several compartments; in the middle of which is a lamp made of flour, filled with ghī and having several wicks lighted.

آدم خور ādam-ḵẖor P adj. Man-eater, man-de- vouring; a cannibal.
