نگم निगम nigam S s. m. Holy writ, the Vedas. نگم نواسي nigam-niwāsī, Dwelling in the Vedas, a name of Brahmā. S̱. نگن नग्न nagan, or nagna, adj. Naked.

نچنت ni-chint S̱. or nichant (निश्चिन्त) adj. Free from thought, anxiety, or care, unconcerned, careless, at leisure. نچنت هونا nichint honā, To be at leisure, to be disengaged, to have finished.

ناگن nāgin S̱. or nāgan, (नागिनी) s. f. A serpent (female).

نسا निशा nisā S s. f. Night. نسچر nis-char, s. m. A prowler: see نساچر beneath. نسچراٴي nis- char-āʼī, s. f. Prowling. نسچراٴي کرنا nis-char-āʼī karnā, To prowl. نساچر निशाचर nisā-char, 1. A demon. 2. A robber, a thief. 3. A noc- turnal animal, an animal that watches and feeds by night. نساکر يا نساناتهـ निशाचर nisā-kar, or निशानाथ nisā-nāth, The moon.

نسپريـﮩ ni-sprīh S̱. (prop. nispr̤iha निःस्पृह) adj. Exempt from desires.

نار nār S̱. (for नारी) s. f. A woman. (for नाल) s. m. 1. Barrel of a gun. 2. The fibre of which rope is made. 3. The stalk of the lotus. 4. The neck.

نقاب niḳāb A (from نقب Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. f. A veil.

نشتر nashtar P or nishtar, s. f. A lancet, a fleam. نشترلگانا nashtar lagānā, To bleed, to phlebo- tomize.

نواسا nawāsā P. (for نواسه) s. m. A grandson (in general, but especially) a daughterʼs son.

نکوکاري niko-kār-ī P s. f. Beneficence, doing good.
