نژند nizhand P or nazhand, adj. Sad, sorrowful, dejected, hanging down the head, drooping: distracted, wrathful, raging: low.

نصيب naṣīb A (from نصب Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. Fortune, lot, luck, chance, portion, part, fate, destiny. (In Hindūstānī this word is often constructed as a plural). نصيب لڙني na- ṣīb laṛne, 1. To be competitor for any thing. 2. (lit. fortune fighting for one) The commence- ment of prosperity, to be greatly favoured by fortune (after adversity). نصيب جگنا naṣīb jagnā, To be fortunate.

نزد nazd P Near, hard by, with, close to, neighbouring, contiguous, almost, about.

نيچا nīchā S̱. (see نيچ) adj. Below, down, low. نيچا اونچا nīchā ūnchā, Up and down, uneven ground, abrupt. نيچي سرون سي بولنا nīche su- roṅ se bolnā, To sing with a low voice, or hum a tune. (Jocosè autem crepitus ventris hâcce voce subintelligitur).

نيول newal S̱. (नकुल) s. m. A weasel, a ferret, a mongoose. (Viverra mungo).

نورس nau-ras P adj. Young, fresh, tender, recent.

نريٿي nareṭī H s. f. Throat, windpipe. نريٿي دبانا nareṭī dabānā, To throttle.

نماشام nimāshām H s. (dakh. i. q. سرشام) Evening, early in the evening (?). نماشام اترنا ni- māshām utarnā (met. i. q. سياه روهونا) To have the face black, to be disgraced (?).
