نورد naward P (from نورديدن) 1. s. f. A ply, a fold. 2. part. act. in compos. Folding, travel- ling over.

نبيڙا nibeṛā S̱. (from نبيڙنا) s. m. End, finishing.

نرنتر nir-antar S (निरन्तर from निर् prep. and अंतर Interval) adj. or adv. Without in- terval, incessantly, constantly.

نہانا nahānā S̱. or nhānā (स्नान or अवगाहन) v. n. To bathe, to wash.

نرگس nargis P s. f. (dakh. s. m.) 1. A narcissus. 2. (met.) The eye of a mistress. نرگس شـﮩـلا nargis-i-shahlā, A narcissus. نرگس مخمور nar- gis-i-maḵẖmūr, An epithet applied to a mistressʼs eyes (intoxicated Narcissus).

نصيب naṣīb A (from نصب Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. Fortune, lot, luck, chance, portion, part, fate, destiny. (In Hindūstānī this word is often constructed as a plural). نصيب لڙني na- ṣīb laṛne, 1. To be competitor for any thing. 2. (lit. fortune fighting for one) The commence- ment of prosperity, to be greatly favoured by fortune (after adversity). نصيب جگنا naṣīb jagnā, To be fortunate.

نرپچه nir-pachh̤ S (निर् prep. and पक्ष Wing, side, friend) adj. Helpless, friendless.

نجهول ni-jhol S̱. (निर् prep. and r. दुल Throw up) adj. Steady, easy-paced, walking or run- ning smoothly without agitation. (Epithet of an elephant).

Half-roasted (meat). نيم شب nīm-shab, Midnight. نيم شبي nīm-shab-ī, adj. Of or relating to midnight. نيم کشت nīm-kusht or نيم کشته nīm-kushta, Half-killed. نيم گقته nīm-gufta, Half-uttered. نيم مرده nīm- murda, Half-dead.
