مسخره masḵẖara A (from سخر) s. m. A droll, a jester, a buffoon, a laughingstock.

مليدا malīdā P. s. m. See ماليده mālīda.

منکوحه mankūḥa A (part. pass. fem. of نکح) s. f. A lawful wife, a married woman.

مغلاني mug̠ẖlānī P. s. f. A female mug̠ẖul; an at- tendant in the harem or womenʼs apartment, a needle-woman.

مرقت maraḳat A s. f. Broth.

منگل मंगल mangal S s. m. 1. Welfare, happiness. 2. The planet Mars or its deified per- sonification. 3. Tuesday. منگل چار mangal- chār, or منگلا چار mangalāchār (मंगलाचार) s. m. Festivity, rejoicing, congratulation, a song of congratulation, a marriage song or epi- thalamium.

محصور maḥṣūr A part. pass. (of حصر Heb. ) Besieged, surrounded, detained, restrained.

مانگ māng H s. f. 1. A line on the top of the head where the hair is parted. 2. A betrothed damsel. 3. Prow. 4. Division. مانگ māng or مانگ پـٿي māng-paṭṭī(dakh.) A golden orna- ment worn over the line on the top of the head where the hair is parted, reaching to the back part of the head: Qanoon-e-islam, App. p. xviii. مانگ نکالنا māng nikālnā, To divide the hair in a straight line on the top of the head.

مرزا mirzā P (from امير Chief, and part. pass. of زادن To be born) s. m. 1. A prince. 2. A title of Musalmāns. (Plur. مرزايان). مرزابي پروا mirzā be parwā (dakh.) Three small delicate golden chains, worn as the ṭīkā, fixed to the hair by small hooks, the lower hanging ends being either set or not with precious stones: Qanoon-e-islam, App. p. xviii. مرزا مزاج mirzā- mizāj, adj. Fastidious, nice.

مٿکنا maṭaknā H v. n. To wink, to ogle, to coquet. ¶ maṭkanā, s. m. A small vessel for taking water out of a larger.
