انٿاچت anṭā-chit H (انٿا A ball, and چت Lying on the back) adj. Unlucky, whose fortune is exhausted. (A term of abuse).

استیناس istīnās A (inf. x. of انس) s. m. Fami- liarity, intimacy, sympathy.

انهت an-hit S̱. 1. adj. Without affection, un- kind, unfriendly; an enemy. 2. s. m. Enmity, disaffection.

اچن a-chin S̱. (अ and चिन्ह A mark) adj. With- out note or consequence.

ابي abe H interj. (used by way of contempt) Holla, you fellow, you rascal! sirrah!

اودهـ अब्धि अप् Water, and r. धा Hold avdhi S. or abdhi, s. m. The ocean.

ادهیرتا अधीरता adhīr-tā S s. f. Haste, pre- cipitation, irresolution, unsteadiness, want of firmness.

اقل aḳṣạ A adj. compar. (of قصي) Extreme, most distant; the extreme, ex- tremely.

اجمعین ajmaʼīﻌn A s. plur. (of اجمع) The whole, all together.

از az P prep. From, of, than, by, with. ازآنجمله az ān-jumla, Of that number. ازبس az bas, From the abundance, sufficiently, notwithstanding, although. ازخود رفته az ḵẖụd rafta or از خویش رفته az ḵẖẉesh rafta, Absent in mind, out of mind, distracted. از خود رفتگي az ḵẖụd raf- tagī, Departure from oneʼs self, distraction of mind. از خود شدن az ḵẖụd shudan, To be out of oneʼs self, the being out of oneʼs mind. ازراه az rāh, By the way. ازسرنو az sar-i-nau, Anew, afresh. It may, also, be prefixed to Persian words beginning with a vowel; as, ازان az-ān, From that; ازین az-īn, From this.
