اقرار iḳrār A (inf. iv. of قرار) s. m. Confession, avowal, affirmation, confirmation, assurance, promise, agreement, attestation, allegation, assertion. اقرار کرنا iḳrār karnā, To promise, confess, acknowledge, avow, assure, affirm, agree, allege, assert, aver, declare. اقرار نامه iḳrār-nāma, s. m. Written agreement, bond, contract, indenture, &c.

آتم ātm आत्मन् S̱. s. m. Soul, self. (much used in the composition of Hindawī words; as) آتم پالک ātm-pālak, Selfish; آتم گهات ātm-ghāt, Self-murder; آتم نامي ātm-nāmī, Self-evident.

آچاري आचारी āchārī S adj. Practising (what is good), strict in the observance of reli- gious ceremonies.

ادهیرجي adhīrjī S̱. f. (अधैर्य्या) (from अधीर) adj. Confused, perplexed.

افیوني afyūn-ī A adj. See افیم چي afīm-chī.

اگراس अग्राश agrās S (अग्र First, and r. अश Eat) s. m. Victuals offered in oblations, sacrifices, &c. to the gods.

اپوتر अ and पवित्र Clean, pure a-pavitr S. adj. Unclean, defiled, impure, profane.

آلا ālā S̱. 1. (for आलय House) s. m. A small recess in a pillar or wall for holding a lamp, &c. 2. (for आर्द्र) adj. Wet; running (as a sore).

استاذ ustāẕ P Same as استاد ustād, q.v.

انگنا an-ginā S̱. (ان priv. and گنا ginā, Counted. Sans. अगणित) adj. Uncounted, number- less. انگنا مہینه anginā mahīna, The eighth month of a womanʼs pregnancy.
