متکا muttakā A (from وکأ) s. m. Any thing to re- cline on, a cushion, a couch.

مساحت masāḥat A (prop. misāḥat, from مسح Heb. and Aram. ) s. f. 1. Measurement, dimension, mensuration. 2. Geometry.

مونج mūnj मुंज S̱. s. f. The name of a grass of which ropes are made. (Saccharum munja: Roxb.).

مونڐها monḍhā H s. m. 1. The shoulder, a lump. 2. A stool, a footstool. See موڙها.

مدغم mudg̠ẖim A part. act. (IV. of دغم) Inserting (a letter), joining two letters by tashdīd. ¶ mudg̠ẖam, part. pass. Coalesced, doubled by tashdīd.

مرسل mursal A part. pass. (IV. of رسل) Sent to another, especially with a message; s. m. A messenger, a divine messenger, the prophet, an apostle. (Of this first class the Muhammadans reckon 313: the whole number of prophets (انبيا) are reckoned by the most moderate to amount to 124,000).

محرف muḥarraf A (part. pass. II. of حرف Heb. ) adj. Inverted, transposed.

مرد mard P s. m. A male, a man, a hero (vir). مرد آدمي mard-i-ādmī, A gentleman. مرد آدميت mard-i-ādmīyat, s. f. Gentility, generosity. مرد آزما mard-āzmā, adj. Man-trying or -proving. مرد باز mard-bāz, A lascivious woman, adultress, strumpet. مرد بازي mard-bāz-ī, s. f. Adultery. مرد بچه mard-bachcha, The son of a brave man. (Pers. plur. مردان).
