ملقب mulaḳḳab A (part. pass. II. of لقب) adj. Surnamed, nicknamed.

منتہيٰ muntahạ̄ A (part. pass. VIII. of نہي) s. m. The end, conclusion, boundary, extremity. ¶ muntahī (part. act.) adj. Learned (i. e. one who has finished his studies).

To commit suicide. 2. To fall in battle after killing some of the enemy. مارهارنا mār hārnā, To beat severely. مار هٿانا mār haṭānā, To overcome, to beat and drive back. مار मार mār, s. m. A name of Kāma- deva. See کام kām.

محراب miḥrāb A (from حرب) s. f. 1. The prin- cipal place in a mosque where the priest prays before the people with his face turned towards Mecca. 2. The royal closet or chamber. 3. (In dakh.) Shelf, niche: see طاق t̤āḳ. محراب تيغ miḥrāb-i-teg̠ẖ, The curve or arch of a sci- mitar (as, the محراب is always arched).

مسايل masāʼịl A s. plur. (of مسأله or مسله) 1. Questions. 2. The precepts of Muhammad, demands, propositions, problems.

مبني mabnī A (noun of place from بنا) s. m. A foundation. مبني فساد mabnī-i-fasād, An aggressor.

مقاصد maḳāṣid A s. plur. (of مقصد) Designs, objects, purposes, aims; enterprises, attempts, wishes.

مسطور mast̤ūr A (part. pass. of سطر) adj. Written, expressed, forementioned, above-cited, aforesaid, delineated, specified. (Plur. مسطورات).

مقابل muḳābil A (part. act. III. of قبل Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Opposite, confronting, op- posing, matching, resembling, equal, comparing: (postpos. mas.) in opposition, against, for.

موحد muwaḥḥid A (part. act. II. of أحد and وحد Chald. ) adj. Believing in one God, or- thodox. ¶ mauḥad, Single.
