It consists of four lines, each composed of four trochees. In the three first the speaker, a female, appears to talk of her lover; but, on the question being put by a friend, applies the whole to some other object. Hence the name from mukarnā, To deny. The following is an example. باٿ چلت مروانچراگہي ميري سني نه اپني کہي ناکچهہ موسون جهگڙا جهانٿا کيون سکهي سجن ناسکهي کانٿا Bāṭ chalat miro anchrā gahe; merī sune na apnī kahe.
