مشموم mashmūm A (part. pass. of شمّ Heb. ) adj. Smelling, odoriferous, fragrant.

محتشم muḥtashim A (part. act. VIII. of حشم) adj. Having many followers, powerful, great.

مرثيه mars̤iya A (inf. of رثي) s. m. مالک mālik A (part. act. of ملک Heb. ) s. m. Master, lord, possessor, proprietor, owner. (Pers. plur. مالکان). مالک الحزن māliku-l-ḥazin or مالک الحزين māliku-l-ḥazīn, Name of an aquatick bird. A. P. مالکانه mālik-āna, adj. Like an owner. adv. In the manner of an owner. s. m. An annual or monthly allowance paid to a zamīn-dār, by the person who occupies his lands, whether the state or a jāgīr-dār.
