مـﮩاوتهـ mahāwath S̱. (महामात्र) s. m. An elephant driver or keeper.

منگتي mangtī S̱. (see مانگنا) s. (dakh.) Asking, request: see سوال suwāl. منگتي لگانا mangtī lagānā (i. q. سزاولي کرنا) To perform the duty of a sazāwal, tax-gatherer, &c.

ميسره maisara A s. m. Left wing of an army.

مـﮩر mahr A (Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. 1. A marriage portion or gift settled upon the wife before marriage, alimony, jointure. 2. Con- tracting by writing for such settlement.

مليح malīḥ A (from ملح Heb. Chald. and Aram. ) adj. Agreeable, sweet, charming, beautiful.

منہار manuhār S̱. or manuhāri (मनोहारि) s. f. Charming, fascinating, delighting, captivating the mind. S̱. منہاري 1. manihār-ī, s. f. The trade in jewels, &c. 2. man-hārī (मनोहारी from मनस् The mind, and r. हृ Steal) adj. mas. Heart-stealer.

ميداني maidān-ī P. s. m. 1. A person who pre- cedes a general or wazīr and proclaims his titles. 2. A kind of ḥuḳḳa used by faḳīrs. 3. Flour made into dough for the preparation of sweet- meats.

منتفع muntafiﻌ A (part. act. VIII. of نفع) adj. Profiting, gaining, enjoying.

موچن mochan S (मोचन) s. m. Release, acquittal. ¶ mochnā, v. a. To let go, to set free, to shed, to put off, to extinguish.
