مـﮩاکال महाकाल mahā-kāl S s. m. A name or rather a form of Siva, in his character of the destroying deity, being then represented of a black colour and of an aspect more or less ter- rifick. (Siva or Mahākāla may be considered as a personification of time that destroys all things).

مـﮩراٴي mahrā-ī H s. f. 1. The business of a pālkī-bearer. 2. A kind of song among the cowherds.

ملفوف malfūf A (part. pass. of لفّ Chald. and Aram. ) adj. 1. Wrapped up, involved, enclosed; the enclosure in a letter, &c. 2. Collected, gathered.

مدرا मदिरा madrā S or madirā, s. f. Spirituous liquor, wine. मुद्रा mudrā, s. f. 1. A seal, a signet. 2. A seal ring. 3. The marks of a seal or similar impression, a stamp, print, coin, medal, &c. 4. A ring worn by jogīs in their ears.

مجانست mujānasat A (inf. III. of جنس) s. f. The being of the same kind, homogeneousness, similarity.

مفصل mufaṣṣal A (part. pass. II. of فصل Heb. and Aram. ) 1. adj. Distinct, full, ample, detailed (account of circumstances). 2. adv. Particularly, diffusively, distinctly, in detail, fully. 3. (peculiar to India) The country (in opposition to town). ¶ mafṣil or mafṣal (noun of place) s. Joint (of the body).
