مين meṅ S̱. (Sans. मध्ये) postpos. In, among, between, at. مين سي meṅ se, From within, out of. ¶ maiṅ (and, rarely, meṅ. Sans. अहं, मे &c.) pron. I. مين پنا main-panā, s. m. (dakh.) Egotism, arrogance. مين خوش ميرا خدا خوش maiṅ ḵẖụsh merā ḵẖudā ḵẖụsh, is used to express high satisfaction with any cir- cumstance or proposition. گر ناخوشي سي ميري هوتاهي جي تراخوش جس مين تري خوشي هو مين خوش مرا خدا خوش Gar nā-ḵẖụshī se merī hotā hai jī tirā ḵẖụsh; jis meṅ tirī ḵẖụshī ho maiṅ ḵẖu̇sh mirā ḵẖudā ḵẖụsh. If you are pleased with that which gives me pain; I am delighted and my God is pleased with whatever affords gratification to you.

مکنون maknūn A (part. pass. of کنّ Heb. ) adj. Concealed, secret, hidden. درمکنون durr-i-maknūn, A pearl (large and valuable).

مـﮩينا mahīnā P. (dakh. mhainā) s. m. (from مه) 1. A month. 2. Monthly pay. مـﮩينا چڙهنا mahīnā chaṛhnā, To be in arrears. مـﮩينا دار mahīnā-dār, A monthly servant.

مومياٴي momiyā-ī P 1. adj. Of or like a mummy. 2. s. f. Name of a medicine. See موميا momiyā.

مـﮩري muhrī P. 1. (corrupt. of موري) s. f. A drain, a gutter, aqueduct, conduit. 2. (from مـﮩر muhr) adj. Sealed. 3. mihr-ī, s. f. (1. in compos.) Friendship. (2.) A kind of guitar or harp.

مقتضا muḳtaẓā A (for مقتضيٰ part. pass. VIII. of قضي Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Exacted, re- quired, demanded; (subst.) Exigence, requisi- tion, demand, necessity, expediency. adv. Con- formable, according to.

مولک maulik S adj. Of inferiour rank or cast among Kāyasths. (Beng. from Sans. मौलिक).

منشي munshī A (part. act. IV. of نشأ Heb. ) s. m. A writer, amanuensis, a secretary. (In India, among Europeans, the word commonly means) A tutor, a teacher of Persian or Hin- dustani, a language-master. منشي گري munshī- garī, s. f. The business of a munshī, secretari- ship.

مـﮩرو mah-rū P adj. Having a face beautiful as the moon.

منہزم munhazim A (part. act. VII. of هزم) adj. Put to flight, discomfited.
