موتيابند motiyā-bind मुक्ताविंदु S̱. s. m. The name of a kind of blindness. Gutta serena.

محشر maḥshar A (noun of place from حشر Heb. ) s. f. Day of judgment, a place of assem- bly. محشر خرام maḥshar-ḵẖirām, Exciting a commotion like that of the day of judgment by the elegance of her gait.

مسکنا masaknā H v. n. To be torn, split, rent, burst.

موتي motī मौक्तिक S̱. s. m. A pearl. موتي پروني motī pirone, 1. To string pearls. 2. (met.) To speak eloquently. 3. To weep (the tears being compared to pearls). Tapish says: سن سنکي ذکراشک ومژه مجهسي يون کہا جب تب نه آپ ايسي هي موتي پروينگي Sun sunke ẕikr-i-ashk o mizha mujh-se yūṅ kahā; jab tab na āp aise hī motī piroʼenge, Having repeatedly heard of my tears and eye- lashes, she said, will you ever and anon be

موسي mausī मसी S̱. s. f. An aunt, motherʼs sister.

محو maḥv A (Heb. Chald. ) adj. Ef- faced, forgotten, erased, obliterated, abolished. s. m. Effacing, obliteration, erasure, abolition, oblivion, extinction. محو کرنا maḥv karnā, To efface, deface, erase, obliterate.

مغليه mug̠ẖul-īya P adj. Of the Moghuls.

مکري mukrī H s. f. A kind of short poem of frequent use in the Braj dialect, the peculia- rities of which are these. It consists of four lines, each composed of four trochees. In the three first the speaker, a female, appears to talk of her lover; but, on the question being put by a friend, applies the whole to some other object. Hence the name from mukarnā, To deny. The following is an example. باٿ چلت مروانچراگہي ميري سني نه اپني کہي ناکچهہ موسون جهگڙا جهانٿا کيون سکهي سجن ناسکهي کانٿا Bāṭ chalat miro anchrā gahe; merī sune na apnī kahe. Nā kachhu mo soṅ jhagṛā jhānṭā; kyūṅ sakhī sajjan? nā sakhī kānṭā. As I went along the road, he seized my robe; neither heard what I said, nor made any reply. In short we had not the smallest dispute. Who, friend, your lover? no, friend, a thorn. A. P. مکري makr-ī, adj. Deceitful.

متاع matāﻌ A (from متع) s. f. Merchandise, goods, chattels, furniture, effects, &c. valuables.

مڐها maḍhā S̱. 1. (from मंडप) s. m. A tem- porary building, an open shed or hall, adorned with flowers and erected on festive occasions, as at marriages, &c. 2. (from مڙهنا) adj. Lined, covered or topped (as, a drum with parchment).
