مجيٿهـ majīṭh मंजिष्ठा S̱. s. f. Name of a drug used for dying red. (Rubia manjith: Roxb.).

مسي mis-ī H or missī, 1. s. f. A powder (made of vitriol, &c.) with which the teeth are tinged of a black colour. مسي دان misī-dān, A box of gold, silver or other metal for holding misī. 2. (from Sans. माष) adj. f. Made of vetches.

ماوا māwā S̱. (from मंड) s. f. 1. Substance. 2. Starch. 3. The yolk of an egg. 4. Leaven. 5. Milk inspissated by boiling.

مذاق maẕāḳ A (noun of place from ذوق Aram. ) s. m. 1. Taste, tasting. 2. The palate.

مثبت mus̤bit A part. act. (IV. of ثبت) Esta- blishing, fixing; demonstrative.

ماچا māchā मंच S̱. s. m. 1. A large bedstead or platform. 2. A frame, or stage on which they sit to drive away birds, &c. from corn- fields. ماچا توڙ māchā-toṛ, adj. 1. A lazy person who never stirs from his bed. 2. A kind of soldier among the Rājpūts, very indo- lent and much addicted to opium, but active and brave when roused. H. P. ماچه خر mācha-ḵẖar, A stupid foolish fellow.

مظلمه maz̤lama A (from ظلم) s. m. Injustice, op- pression, tyranny.

مستعجل mustaﻌjil A (part. act. X. of عجل Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Hastening, alert.

مجدد mujaddad A (part. pass. II. of جدّ Heb. ) adj. New, renewed.
