مظلم muz̤lim A (part. act. IV. of ظلم Heb. ) adj. Dark.

موي mūʼe P s. m. Hair. موي نـﮩاني يا زهار يا عانه muʼe-nihānī, or-zihār, or-āﻌna, Hair (circa pubes).

مچهـ machh S or machchha (मच्छ or मत्स्य) s. m. 1. A fish in general. 2. The name of the first avatār, or incarnation, when Vish̤ṇu appeared in the shape of the small fish (शफरी) sapharī, to Satyavrata, or Hayagrīva, to warn him of the general deluge, and desire him to place the four Vedas in the boat which he (Vish̤ṇu) would preserve. The fish was first taken up by Hayagrīva in his hands when bathing, being then of the size of the sapharī (or ponṭhī); but, it grew too large for being contained in a tank, river, &c. and was carried to the sea; where, afterwards, it supported the

مفروض mafrūẓ A (part. pass. of فرض) adj. Re- quisite as a sacred duty, indispensable.

منقا munaḳḳā A s. (dakh.) A species of raisins, currants (Harris): see منقيٰ munaḳḳạ̄, sign. 2.

مينڐ menḍ H s. f. A bank (raised to separate fields), a border, bank (of a pond, river, &c.), dam, dike (Harris). مينڐ پڙنا menḍ paṛnā, The rising of waves in the sea.

مفروح mafrūḥ A (part. pass. of فرح Heb. ) adj. Glad (tidings).

متعلق mutaʼaﻌlliḳ A (part. act. V. of علق) adj. 1. Hanging, suspended, depending. 2. Belonging to, appendant, concerning, relative to. 3. Connected with, attached to, addicted, occupied or engaged (in). s. Appendage. Plur. Pers. متعلقان mutaʼaﻌlliḳān, or Arab. متعلقات mu- taʼaﻌlliḳāt, s. m. Domesticks, children, family, appendages, possessions. متعلق هونا mutaʼaﻌlliḳ konā, To depend.
