مشر mishar मिश्र S̱. s. m. 1. A title of Brāh- maṇs, who were brought to India from Sāka- dwīp by Kr̤ish̤ṇa in order to cure the leprosy of his son Sāmba: also, a title of some Brāhmaṇs from Mithilā, &c. 2. A Hindū physician.

منڐهنا manḍhnā S̱. v. a. See مڙهنا maṛhnā.

معروف maﻌrūf A (part. pass. of عرف) adj. 1. Known, notorious, noted, celebrated. 2. Active (voice of a verb). 3. The letters و and ي are said to be maﻌrūf, when the former has the sound of ū and the latter of ī; as in نور nūr, Splendour, and لڙکي laṛkī, A girl.

منت minnat A s. f. An obligation, favour, entreaty, humble and earnest supplication. منت دار minnat-dār, Obliged. منت دارکرنا minnat-dār karnā, To oblige. منت داري minnat-dār-ī, s. f. The being under obligation. منت کش minnat-kash, Under obligation, obliged.

مٿهـ muṭh S̱. (from मुष्ठि) s. The fist, blows with the fist, clutch, grasp: see مشت musht. مٿهـ مرد muṭh-mard, s. m. A robber, a ruffian.

مخلص muḵẖliṣ A (part. act. IV. of خلص Heb. ) adj. Sincere; s. m. A sincere friend. ¶ maḵẖlaṣ (noun of place) s. m. An asylum. A.P. مخلصانه muḵẖliṣ-āna, adv. Friendly, sincerely.

مژه mizha P s. f. The eyelash.

متـﮩري mutihrī मूत्रहरी S̱. s. f. A hole in which the dirt of a stable (particularly, urine) is collected.

موچنا mūchnā S̱. 1. s. m. Pincers, tweezers. 2. v. a. To pinch. 3. To shut, to close.

ملتفت multafit A (part. act. VIII. of لفت Heb. ) adj. Paying regard to, shewing respect to, turning the head to look (at), inclined (to- wards), attentive (to), having regard.
