مکان makān A (noun of place of کون Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. A place, station, dwelling, room, abode, home. (Plur. مکانات). مکاندار makān-dār, 1. Owner of a place (vulg.). 2. The faḳīr who occupies any particular station. 3. A watchman.

مرگهٿ मरघट्ट marghaṭ S s. m. The place where Hindūs burn their dead.

موکد muʼakkad A (part. pass. II. of أکد) adj. Confirmed, corroborated, efficacious.

مطلع mat̤laﻌ A (noun of place of طلع) s. m. 1. The place of rising, the rising (of the sun, &c.), the east. 2. The beginning or exordium of a poem. Plur. مطلعات Openings of poems.

متمرد mutamarrid A (part. act. V. from مرد Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Vicious, stubborn, dis- obedient, refractory.

مڙنا muṛnā H v. n. To be turned back, bent, twisted, turned, to turn, bend, twine.

ماخذ māḵẖaẕ A (noun of place from اخذ) s. m. The place of receipt, the source or what any thing is taken from.

محتشم muḥtashim A (part. act. VIII. of حشم) adj. Having many followers, powerful, great.

مچکنا machaknā H v. n. 1. To have pain in the joints. 2. To creak (as, a bedstead, &c.).

مواصلت mawāṣalat A (inf. III. of وصل) s. f. Con- junction, coming together, adhesion, interview, connexion, copulation.
