اتکا atkā S̱. (from अति Exceeding) adv. Much, excessively.

ادهیلا adh-elā S̱. s. m. Half a paisā (a small coin).

آنٿي ānṭī S̱. (see آنٿ) s. f. A handful, a skein of thread, a bundle of grass, &c. a wisp, a small fagot.

افیون afyūn A s. f. Opium, the inspissated juice of the Papaver somniferum. (The word may be derived from افن To deprive of reason or pru- dence (Gol.); or, rather from Gr. ʼopos, Juice, especially of the Laserpitium (Hippoc.), whence ʼopion (Dioscor.); or, from the Sans. अहिफेन ahiphen, comp.of अहि Serpent, and फेन Froth, foam. Hunter).

اخفا iḵẖfā A (inf. iv. of خفي) s. m. Conceal- ment.

ابو abū A s. m. Father.

انچاهت an-chāhat S̱. adj. Not desired.

انچهیلا an-chhīlā H (ان priv. and چهیلا from چهیلنا To pare, &c.) adj. Unpared (as fruit, &c.); rude, unlicked, awkward, boorish.

ارنڐي aranḍ-ī S̱. (from ارنڐِ) s. f. The fruit of the Ricinus communis or Palma Christi.
