لعاب luʼāﻌb A (from لعب To slaver, to play. Heb.

لـﮩکارنا lahkārnā H v. a. To fondle, to pat and encourage a horse, &c.

لاک lāk P s. m. 1. See لاکهہ lākh, sign. 1. 2. A kneadingtrough. 3. A tortoise, which is also called لاک پشت lāk-pusht.

لپ لپ lup-lup H s. m. Lapping (as, of a dog drinking). ¶ lap-lap, adj. Nimble, quick. لپ لپ کهانا lap-lap khānā, To eat quickly. S̱. لپنا lipnā (r. लिप Plaster, besmear) v. n. To be plastered, smeared or washed over.

لـﮩر lahar S̱. (Sans. लहरी) s. f. 1. A wave, un- dulation. 2. Whim, fancy, vision. 3. The ef- fect of the poison of a snake. 4. A waving pattern in embroidery. 5. Emotion.

ليـﮩنا lehnā S̱. (लेहन from r. लिह Lick, taste) s. m. Pasture, provender.

ليلوٿ le-lūṭ S̱. (from لينا lenā, and لوٿنا luṭnā, q. v.) adj. Borrowing and never paying.

لٿانا luṭānā S̱. v. a. 1. (causal of لوٿنا lūṭnā) To squander, to spend or expend, to cause to plun- der or be plundered. 2. (causal of لوٿنا loṭnā) To cause to wallow or roll about.

لگونـﮩان lagūṅhāṅ S̱. or lagauṅhāṅ, (Sans. लघु) adj. Pleasing, beautiful, delightful.
