لغويات lag̠ẖwiyāt A s. plur. (of لغوي) Vain, fool- ish words or speeches, nonsense.

لهوار lhau-ār S̱. (dakh.) s. m. Blacksmith. لهوار خاني مين سويان بيچنا lhauʼār-ḵẖāne meṅ sūyāṅ bechnā (i. q. بيجا فخر کرنا be-jā faḵẖr karnā) To boast improperly or out of place (?).

ليت ولعل lait-o-laʼaﻌll A s. f. Subterfuge, pro- crastination, prevarication, evasion, chicane.

لگوها lagūhā S̱. (Sans. लघु) adj. Pleasing, beautiful, delightful.

لٿک laṭak H (from لٿکنا) s. f. 1. Hanging, dang- ling. 2. An affected motion in blandishment and coquetry. لٿک چال laṭak-chāl, s. f. Af- fected gait, coquetry.

لو lau लय S̱. s. f. 1. The flame of a candle, any pointed flame. (Scotch, low). لو لگانا lau lagānā, To be constant in prayer, devotion, &c. لو لگني lau lagnī, The frequent and long continued repetition of any saying (particularly, of a lover calling on his mistress, or of a dying man on God), to have a constant desire or craving (for any thing).

لڙک بدهـ लडकबुद्धि laṛak-buddhi S s. f. Child- ishness, the wisdom of a child.

لوين loyan लोचन S̱. s. m. The eye.

لچها lachchhā H s. m. A bundle (of thread), a ball or skein of thread, &c. ¶ (In the Dakhan) A necklace worn tight round the neck, formed of gold beads and glass beads. (Qanoon-e-islam).

لمکانا lamkānā H (corrupt. of لپکانا) v. n. To stretch out the hands to take any thing.
