السانا alsānā S̱. (from الس q.v.) v. n. To doze, to be drowsy, to slacken.

اپهل अफल a-phal S adj. Fruitless, barren; un- profitable.

اشرف ashraf A adj. compar. (of شریف) More or most noble, most eminent. s. m. A gentleman, a person of noble birth, a nobleman. اشرف المخلوقات ashrafu-l-maḵẖlūḳāt, The most excel- lent of created beings; mankind. اشرف المکانات ashrafu-l-makānāt, The most eminent of places.

اترن utaran S̱. (from उत्तीर्ण see under اترنا utarnā) s. f. A fragment, any thing taken off from the body; cast off clothes. اترن هونا utaran-honā, To be freed (from debt), to descend, alight.

اٿهواٿي کهٿواٿي aṭhwātī khaṭwāṭī S̱. s. f. The state of being confined to bed through sickness, &c.

اوزان auzān A s. plur. (of وزن) Weights.

آڙواڙ āṛ-wāṛ H s. f. A prop. adj. Stopping.

اضافت iẓāfat A (inf. iv. of ضیف) s. f. Addi- tion, adjunct, reference, annexion; construc- tion of one noun with another.

اکتفا iktifā A (inf. viii. of کفایت) s. f. Suffi- ciency, contentment. اکتفاکرنا iktifā karnā, To be or rest satisfied.

ايودهيا अयोध्या अ and r. युध Fight a-yodhyā S. s. f. (not to be warred against) The name of a country of which Rāma was sove- reign. Oude. See اوده awadh.
