لونا launā S̱. (लवन r. लू Cut off) 1. s. m. Ba- lancing, making scales equal. 2. v. a. To reap. ¶ lonā (लवनी) s. m. Name of a fruit. (Annona reticulata).

لک لوٿ lak-loṭ S̱. adj. (dakh.) See لکهـ لٿ lakh- luṭ.

لاد lād H s. f. 1. Load. 2. Bowel. لاد پهاند lād- phānd, s. f. Loading and packing. A. P. لادن lādan (Gr. *la/danon) s. m. Ladanum, a resinous substance exuding from the leaves and branchlets of the Cistus creticus.

لٿها لٿهي laṭhā-laṭhī S̱. (from यष्टि see لٿهـ) s. f. Mutual beating with cudgels.

لوکاچاري lok-āchār-ī लोकाचार S̱. s. (dakh. i. q. لوگ لاج) Custom of a people, the honour or credit of a people. S. لوکالوک लोकालोक (लोक Seeing, and अलोक not seeing; causing light and darkness, as interposing between the dwīpas and the sun) lokālok, s. m. A mountainous belt sur- rounding the outermost of the seven seas and bounding the world.

ليچلنا le-chalnā S̱. v. a. To take away or along, to carry, convey, conduct, lead.

لـﮩلوٿ lahloṭ S̱. adj. Borrowing and never paying.

لپکا lapkā H s. m. 1. A snatch. 2. Nimbleness. 3. A bad custom or habit. Mīr says: اپني توجـﮩان آنکهـ لڙي پهر وهين ديکهو آينه کو لپکا هي پريشان نظري کا Upnī to jahāṅ ānkh laṛī phir wahīṅ dekho; āʼīne ko lapkā hai pareshān-naz̤arī kā. Where I first fell in love, there you will see me; (I am not like) the mirror (which) is in the habit of casting its glances in all directions.

لنگڙا langṛā P. (from لنگ) adj. Lame, cripple. P. H. لنگڙانا langṛā-nā, v. n. To limp.

لقوه laḳwa A (from لقا) s. m. A spasmodick dis- tortion of the face.
