لالي پڙنا lāle paṛnā S̱. To be extremely desirous and unable fully to express oneʼs wishes. Mīr says:-- اس اسيري کي نه کوٴي اي صبا پالي پڙي ايک نظرگل ديکهني کي بهي همين لالي پڙي Is asīrī ke na koʼī, ai ṣabā! pāle paṛe; yak naz̤ar gul dekhne ke bhī hameṅ lāle paṛe. Oh zephyr! may no one fall into such bonds as these; I long to distraction for one look of the rose.

لمکانا lamkānā H (corrupt. of لپکانا) v. n. To stretch out the hands to take any thing.

لايحه lāʼịḥa A (part. act. of لوح) s. m. Thing shining; splendour.

لايقه lāʼịḳa A f. (part. act. of ليق) adj. Worthy, deserving, adapted, proper, suitable, fit, apposite, becoming, expedient, able, capable, qualified. لايق هونا lāʼịḳ honā, To de- serve, to merit.

لوڙها loṛhā लोष्ट S̱. s. m. A stone pestle with which materials are triturated on a stone.

لپڙي lipṛī H s. f. An (old ragged) turband.

لانک lānk H s. f. 1. Quantity, measure. 2. The loins. 3. Birdlime. 4. Chaff.

للک lalak H s. f. 1. A sudden gush of water, &c. 2. (met.) Whim, fancy, caprice.

لکها likhā S̱. (part. past of لکهنا likhnā, q. v.) s. m. Fate, predestination, destiny, writing. adj. Written.

لپٿانا lipṭānā H or lapṭānā, v. n. To cling, stick, adhere together.
