گوري गौरी gaurī S s. f. 1. The name of a rāgiṇī or musical mode. 2. (or gawarī) One of the names of Pārvatī.

کهانڐ khānḍ खंड S̱. s. m. Sugar (coarse).

گوديا gūdiyā H adj. Desirous, wishing.

گوشواره gosh-wāra P s. m. 1. An earring. 2. An embroidered cloth worn as an ornament over the sides of a turband. 3. The abstract of an account. 4. Boring the ears (of female children).

کيڙا keṛā H s. m. A sapling.

کلي killī S̱. (from Sans. कील see کيل) s. f. A key, a bolt. ¶ h. kullī, s. f. Gargling or rinsing the mouth, washing the mouth.

گنج ganj P (Sans. गंज A mine, a treasury) s. m. 1. A granary, heap, treasure, treasury, hoard, market, mart. 2. A case. گنج بخش ganj- baḵẖsh, adj. Generous, liberal, profuse, extra- vagant. گنج گاو ganj-i-gāw, One of the great treasures of Jamshīd. گنجنامه ganj-nāma, Treasure-book.

گيپا gepā H s. m. A nipple.

گواره guwāra P (or gawāra) adj. 1. Palatable, digestible. 2. Agreeable, plea- sant. گوارا کرنا gawārā karnā, To bear, endure, submit to, to take (upon oneʼs self trouble, &c.).

گوتم गौतम gautama S (or gotam) n. prop. The name of a muni, or saint, famous in Hindū mythology. He was the author of the Nyāya, or logick, and his doctrines corresponded with those of Aristotle. Gautama and his wife Ahalyā lived in a retired forest, where Indra, happening to pass, was struck with the beauty of the latter; and, assuming the appearance of Gautama, deceived and slept with his wife: which being discovered, Gautama cursed them both. To Indra he said, may your testicles fall to the ground; which accordingly took place: but Brahmā advised him to restore them with those of a ram, cut out for that purpose; hence, Indra is called मेषांडकोष mesh̤ānḍakosh̤a (ram-testicled). He wished that Ahalyā might be turned into stone; in which state she remained till Rūmachandra (son of Dasaratha) passing that way with his brother
