آب نقره āb-i-nuḳra P Quicksilver, silver reduced by any menstruum to a liquid state.

ارچ अरुचि aruchi S s. f. Sickness at stomach, nausea. ¶ अर्चि archi, s. m. Flame, light, splendour, radiance.

استویست astavyast S adj. See استبیست. S. استهان स्थान (r. ष्ठा Stand) asthān or sthān, s. m. Place, abode, residence. S. استهر स्थिर (r. ष्ठा Stand) isthir or sthir, adj. Settled, steady, firm, fixed.

ادهي addhī S̱. (from अर्द्ध) s. f. Half a damṛī (a small coin), half a piece of cloth.

اڙهیا uṛhaiya S̱. part. (from اوڙهنا) A wearer or putter on of a dress.

آصف āṣaf A s. m. 1. The caper tree (Capparis spinosa). 2. The name of a man considered to have been Solomonʼs wazīr. آصف راي āṣaf rāʼe, Prudent as Āsaf. آصف الدوله āṣafu-d-daula, The Āsaf of the state.

اکبر akbar A adj. compar. (of کبیر) Greater, very great, greatest. S̱.P. اکپیچه ik-pech-a, s. m. Name of an ornament for the head. S. اکت उक्ति (r. वच Speak) ukat or ukti, s. f. Speech, speaking. اکت بنانا ukat banānā, To make up a story, to invent, to contrive.

اپچهرا apchharā अप्सरा S̱. s. f. A female dancer in the court of Indra. See اپسرا apsarā.

آب ني āb-nai P s. The perpendicular tube of a ḥuḳḳa on which the chilam is fixed.
