فليته falīta A. (corrupt. from فتيله) s. m. 1. Match, torch, wick, fusee. 2. A wick com- posed of paper inscribed with mystick words, by inhaling the smoke of which demons are said to be expelled from those possessed. 3. A cord of twisted thread sewed between the two folds of the hem of a garment to strengthen it. فليته دار falīta-dār, 1. A matchlock. 2. Any thing that has a match or wick. 3. Cloth hemmed with a cord (فليته falīta, q. v.).

فرات furāt A n. prop. The river Euphrates.

فاش fāsh P adj. Apparent, manifest, known, di- vulged, notorious. فاش کرنا fāsh karnā, To di- vulge, reveal, discover. فاش هونا fāsh honā, To be divulged or revealed.

فريد بوٿي farīd būṭī H s. f. A kind of medicinal herb. (Menispermum hirsutum).

فيصل faiṣal A (from فصل) s. m. 1. Decision, de- cree, determination. 2. Division, separation. فيصل کرنا faiṣal karnā, To settle, to decide, to adjust. فيصل نامه faiṣal-nāma, s. m. A decree, an award. فيصل هونا faiṣal honā, To be de- cided or settled, to be adjusted.

فضول faẓūl A or fuẓūl (from فضل) adj. Exube- rant, excessive, extravagant, redundant. فضول خرچ faẓūl-ḵẖarch, Extravagant, profuse, pro- digal. فضول گو faẓūl-go, 1. A prolix speaker, one who talks much, babbler, talkative. 2. A boaster, egotist.

فرزندي farzand-ī P s. f. The state or condition of a child. فرزندي مين لينا farzaṉd-ī meṅ lenā, To adopt.

فردوس firdaus A (Heb. Aram. Gr. *paradeisos) s. m. A garden, paradise. فردوس مکاني firdaus-makān-ī, adj. Whose dwelling is paradise.
