فريق farīḳ A (from فرق) s. m. A troop, squadron, corps, party. فريقين farīḳain, dual, Both par- ties. فريق ثاني farīḳ-i-s̤ānī, The defendant par- ty in a lawsuit, if consisting of several indivi- duals.

فور fūr P n. prop. Name of a king of Ḳannauj, killed by Alexander the Great. (Perhaps, Porus).

فاسقه fāsiḳa A s. f. (part. act. of فسق Heb. To distend, to divaricate, to quit the path of rectitude) A fornicator, an adulterer, or adultress, a sinner, a worthless fellow. adj. Impious.

فقرا fuḳarā A s. plur. (of فقير) Dervises, &c.

قيته fīta Port. s. m. Ribbon, tape. (Portug. fita).

فاتحه fātiḥa A (from فتح) 1. s. m. Commence- ment, exordium. 2. s. f. The first chapter or سوره of the ḳurʼān, which being repeated when praying for the souls of the dead, the word comes to mean prayers offered up in the name of saints, &c. and vulgarly oblations made to saints, &c.

فراخي farāḵẖ-ī P s. f. 1. Abundance, cheapness, largeness, wideness. 2. A girth.

فصاد faṣṣād A (adj. superl. of فصد) s. m. A sur- geon, phlebotomist.
