غافل g̠ẖāfil A (part. act. of غفل) adj. Negligent, neglectful, inattentive, remiss, indolent, sense- less, imprudent, careless, thoughtless. (Pers. plur. غافلان). A.P. غافلي g̠ẖāfil-ī, s. f. Negligence, carelesness.

غساله g̠ẖusāla A s. m. 1. Dirty water with which any thing has been washed. 2. Bathing.

غپچپ g̠ẖap-chup H adj. (dakh.) Silent, mute.

غيب g̠ẖaib A (from غيب Heb. and Chald. To be hidden or concealed) adj. Latent, concealed, absent, invisible, mysterious. sub. In visibility, mystery, absence, or for عالم غيب aﻌlam-i-g̠ẖaib, The invisible world, the other world. غيب دان g̠ẖaib-dān, Skilled in disco- vering mysteries, a seer, diviner, omniscient.

غروب g̠ẖurūb A s. m. 1. Setting (of the sun, &c.). 2. The west. غروب هونا g̠ẖurūb honā, To set (the sun or moon, &c.).

غيرت g̠ẖairat A s. f. 1. Modesty, bashfulness, honour, courage. 2. Jealousy, enmity, emula- tion, a nice sense of honour. غيرت افزا g̠ẖairat- afzā, Increasing emulation or jealousy. غيرت کش g̠ẖairat-kash, adj. Enduring jealousy, jealous. غيرتمند g̠ẖairat-mand, Jealous, emu- lous, high-minded.

غريبي g̠ẖarīb-ī A. s. f. 1. The state of being a foreigner, foreignness. 2. Humility, wretchedness.

غرق g̠ẖarḳ A 1. s. m. Drowning, immersion, sinking. 2. adj. Drowned, immersed, sunk. غرق هونا g̠ẖarḳ honā, To be immersed, to be absorbed (in meditation, &c.), to drown. A. P. غرقاب g̠ẖarḳ-āb, Deep water, a whirlpool.

غاريقون g̠ẖārīḳūn G. s. m. Agarick. (Gr. *agarikon).

غڙپ دني g̠ẖaṛap dane H (dakh.) In a crack, sud- denly. غڙپ کرنا g̠ẖaṛap karnā, v. a. To drown, to immerse. غڙپ هونا g̠ẖaṛap honā, v. n. To be drowned or immersed.
