صنايع ṣanāʼịﻌ A s. plur. (of صناعة) Arts, artifices, miracles.

صدور ṣudūr A s. plur. of صدر ṣadr, q. v.

صعب ṣaﻌb A adj. Hard, difficult, arduous, rough, troublesome, disagreeable, disobedient, stubborn, perverse.

صافي ṣāf-ī A. 1. s. f. (from صاف) Cleanness, pu- rity. 2. Sincerity, candour. 3. A filter or cloth through which drinks, medicines, &c. are strained, a strainer. 4. part. act. (of صفو) Pure, clean, &c. See صاف ṣāf. صافي نامه ṣāfī- nāma, s. m. A general release, discharge from an obligation. See under راضي rāẓī.

صابن ṣāban A. s. m. Soap. (Hence Gr. *sa/pwn).

صحيفه ṣaḥīfa A (from صحف) s. m. A book, a leaf, a page, a letter.

صيد ṣaid A s. f. Game, prey, animal pursued, fished for, &c. hunting, chase. صيد افگن ṣaid- afgan or صيد فگن ṣaid-figan, Killer of game. صيد افگني ṣaid-afgan-ī, Killing of game. صيد انداز يا باز ṣaid-andāz or -bāz, A sportsman. صيد بند ṣaid-band, A taker or binder of game. صيد بندي ṣaid-band-ī, s. f. Taking or binding of game. صيد گاه ṣaid-gāh, s. f. Place for game.

صنمکده ṣanam-kada P s. m. An idol temple.

صبوحي ṣabūḥ-ī A. s. f. A bottle for holding wine; the morning draught of wine. صبوحي کش ṣa- būḥī-kash, A drinker of the morning draught.

صوف ṣūf A s. m. Wool, and the word is applied to silk, thread, and cotton.
