شاذ shāẕẕ A (part. act. from شذّ To remain alone or separate from others) adj. Uncommon, mi- raculous, wonderful; irregular or anomalous (in grammar), an exception. adv. Seldom.

شہيد shahīd A (from شہد) s. A witness; a mar- tyr (any Muhammadan killed in battle is so called). adj. Killed. شہيدهونا shahīd honā, 1. To be killed. 2. To fall in love. (Pers. plur. شہيدان).

شب shabb A s. m. Alum.
