سرور sar-war P s. m. 1. A chief, principal, leader. 2. n. prop. Name of a Muhammadan saint. سرورکاينات sarwar-i-kāʼịnāt (chief of created beings) Muḥammad.

سگهڙ sughaṛ सुघट S̱. adj. Elegant, accom- plished, beautiful, virtuous.

سبزه sabza P s. m. 1. Verdure, herbage. 2. In- cipient beard, bloom. 3. A green stone worn in the ear as an ornament. سبزه زار sabza-zār, A place abounding in verdure, a meadow, mead, parterre, lawn, a green.

سلونا sa-lon-ā S̱. or salaunā, adj. 1. Salted, salt, seasoned; tasteful. 2. Beautiful, expressive (a countenance).

ساسنا sāsnā शासन S̱. v. a. To chastise, to ad- monish. See سانسنا sāṅsnā.

ستکهنا satkhanā S̱. (सप्त Seven, and खंड Part) adj. Of seven divisions or stories (a house, &c.). S̱. H. ستلڙا sat-laṛ-ā, adj. Sevenfold, of seven strings or rows (a chain of pearls, &c.). ستلڙي sat- laṛ-ī, s. f. A necklace of seven strings.

سوزني sozn-ī P (from سوزن) s. f. A kind of small embroidered carpet, quilted linen, tamboured work.

سوتي sūtī सूत्रीय S̱. adj. Made of cotton thread, threaden.

سايا sāyā S̱. s. m. Shade. See سايه sāya.
