ستمب stamb S̱. (स्तम्भ) s. m. Pillar, post, column, stump.

سپوليا sapoliyā S̱. (सर्पपोत i. e. सर्प A snake, and पोत The young of any thing) s. m. A young snake just hatched.

سپـہر sipahr P s. m. The sphere, the celestial globe, the sky, fortune, time, the world. ¶ si- pahar (comp. of سه Three, and پـہر A watch) s. m. Afternoon.

سڙهي siṛhī H s. f. (dakh.) See سيڙهي sīṛhī.

ساتوين sāt-wīṅ सप्तमी S̱. s. f. The seventh day of the lunar fortnight.

سٿپٿانا saṭpaṭānā H v. n. To be confounded, to be surprised. H. S̱. سٿ دينا saṭ denā, v. a. (dakh.) 1. To throw, to cast. 2. (ناچيزسمجهنا) To consider worth- less or of no consequence.

سلام salām A (from سلم) s. m. 1. Salutation. 2. Peace, safety. سلام کرنا salām karnā, 1. To sa- lute, to hail, to accost. 2. To give up, to desist, to refrain, to bid adieu. سلامٌ عليک salāmuṉ aﻌlaika, Peace or safety to thee: سلامٌ عليکم sa- lāmuṉ aﻌlaikum (Heb. ) Peace, &c. to you (forms of salutation). سلام لينا salām lenā, To return the salutation.

سماروغ samārūg̠ẖ P s. m. A white mushroom resembling an egg.

سمسار samsār S̱. s. (dakh.) See کنبا kumbā.

سوکيه स्वकीय swakīya S adj. m. Own, of oneʼs own family. See سگا sagā. P. S̱. سوگ sog (शोक) s. m. Affliction, grief, sorrow, lamentation, anguish.
