سرمه surma P s. m. A collyrium (generally considered to be antimony, but what is used in India is an ore of lead). سرمه آلوده surma- ālūda, adj. Stained with surma; whose eyes are stained with surma. سرمه دان surma-dān, or, سرمي داني surme-dānī, A box, &c. for holding surma. سرمه کش surma-kash, One who has tinged his eyes with surma, or who applies that collyrium to the eyes of any one: an en- lightener of the eye or aider of sight, &c. a dark night. سرمه کشي surma-kash-ī, The applying of surma. سرمه هونا surma honā, To be reduced to an impalpable powder.
