سبز sabz P adj. Green, verdant, fresh, flourishing. سبزباغ دکهانا sabz bāg̠ẖ dikhānā, To de- ceive. سبزبختي sabz-baḵẖt-ī, s. f. Prosperity. سبزدهوما sabz-dhūmā, s. m. A kind of pigeon. سبزرنگ sabz-rang, adj. Of black complexion. سبزروشن sabz-roshan, s. m. A kind of pigeon. سبزقدم sabz-ḳadam, adj. Unfortunate, unlucky, ill-omened. سبزهونا sabz honā, To flourish. (Plur. سبزان Herbs, vegetables).

سلجهنا sulajhnā H v. n. To be unravelled or dis- entangled. S. سلچهن सुलक्षण (comp. of सु Good, and लक्षण Sign, mark) su-lachchh̤aṇ or su-laksh̤aṇ, s. m. Good distinguishing mark or character; adj. Clearly or strongly distinguished by (marks, features, or) character. (Carey).

سکچنا sukuchnā S̱. or sakuch-nā (संकोचन) v. n. To fear, to be afraid of, to be in awe of, to be abashed, to apprehend, to be apprehensive.

سقا saḳḳā A (from سقي Heb. To water, to give to drink) s. m. 1. A water-carrier. 2. A cupbearer.

سٿلي saṭalī H s. f. Chattering nonsense, false- hood.

سبد sabud P s. m. A basket.

سعايت siʼāﻌyat A (from سعي) s. f. 1. The work exacted of a half-ransomed slave to complete his freedom, or his paying the remaining price of redemption. 2. Accusation, detraction. 3. The care or management of the tenths or tithes raised for alms.
