ستوا satūʼā S̱. s. m. 1. See ستو sattū. 2. adj. (applied to a kind of ginger) Pulverable, free from threads or fibres. ستوا سنکرانت satūʼā- sankrānt, The entering of the sun into Aries; on which day the meal of parched grain is dis- tributed to the Brāhmans.

سرا sirā S̱. (from शिरः) s. m. Head, extremity, end.

سيٿهہ sīṭh सिक्थ S̱. s. f. Dregs of betel, or any thing that has been chewed.

سراون sarāwan H s. m. A harrow.

سرف saraf A s. m. Extravagance.

سيواري sewār-ī S̱. s. f. Sugar that has been pu- rified with سوار siwār, q. v.

سعايت siʼāﻌyat A (from سعي) s. f. 1. The work exacted of a half-ransomed slave to complete his freedom, or his paying the remaining price of redemption. 2. Accusation, detraction. 3. The care or management of the tenths or tithes raised for alms.

سموتسري samvatsar-ī सांवत्सरिक S̱. s. f. Annual ceremony.

سيسو sīso शिंशपा S̱. s. m. A kind of wood, or name of a tree. (Dalbergia sisu: Roxb.).

سراينده sarāʼịnda P part. act. (of سراٴيدن) Singing, a singer.
