آس ās S̱. (आशा) s. f. Hope, desire, trust, reliance. (Affixed to other words آس signifies inclination, and آسا possessed of inclination; as پیاس piyās, Thirst, and پیاسا piyāsā, Thirsty, from پي pī, Drink).

ارتلا artalā H s. m. A patron, a protector.

ابلیس iblīs A (from ابلس he despaired, so named because he despaired of Godʼs mercy. Jauhari) s. m. The devil.

اداتي अदानी a-dāni S adj. Avaricious, stingy.

اسرتو āsartū S̱. आश्रित (आ and r. श्रि Serve) adj. One who relies on another, a refugee, a protegee.
