سنسکار संस्कार saṅskār S s. m. An essential and purificatory rite among the Hindūs; puri- fication, consecration.

سقايه saḳāya A (prop. siḳāya from سقي) s. m. A cold bath or place for washing the body with cold water in.

سکهر sikhar S̱. s. m. 1. (शिक्य) Three or more strings tied together forming a support to hang any thing on; the cords of a bahangī, in which the baskets rest. 2. (शिखर) Top, summit, peak, pinnacle.

سيف saif A (Rab. and Chald. Gr. ci/fos) s. f. A sword. سيف بان saif-bān, s. m. A rocket which has a sword attached to its tail. سيف زبان saif-zabān, adj. One whose curses prevail. ¶ sīf, Bank, margin, shore.

سلاٴي salāʼī शलाका S̱. s. f. 1. A needle, or piece of wire for tinging the eyelids with a collyrium: also, used for depriving people of sight, which is effected by drawing it while hot close over the eyes of the sufferer. 2. A lead pencil.

ستن sutan S̱. s. m. plur. of ست (in Braj) Sons.

ساگ sāg शाक S̱. s. m. Greens, edible vege- tables, culinary herbs, potherb. ساگ پات sāg- pāt, s. m. Greens. ساگ پات هونا sāg-pāt honā, To become soft.
