سارو sārū S̱. (from سارنا) s. (dakh. in compos.) Performer, accomplisher.

سلم salam A (from سلم Heb. To be safe, en- tire or sound) 1. s. m. Peace, safety. 2. Saluting, submitting, cultivating peace, friendship. 3. adj. Free from fault or flaw. ¶ sullam, s. m. A stair. سلمه الله تعاليٰ sallamahu-l-lāhu taʼāﻌlạ̄, May the Almighty protect him.

سوپن स्वप्न swapna S s. m. A dream. See سپن.

سيکڙا sai-kaṛā S̱. or saikṛā (from शत) adv. A hundred, per cent.

سپڙانا sapṛānā S̱. v. a. (caus. of سپڙنا) To cause to be involved, seized, &c.

سميت समेत samet S adv. With, along with, together with.

سمادهہ samādh S (समाधि) s. f. 1. Tomb of a Jogī, particularly where Hindūs, from religious motives, submit to be buried alive. 2. An ex- ercise of austerity among Jogīs, whereby they are supposed to acquire the power of suspending during their pleasure the connexion between their soul and body.

سخريه suḵẖriya A s. Derision, ridicule.
