سکنا siknā H (intrans. of سينکنا) v. n. To be toasted or parched.

سکت sakat S̱. or sakti (शक्ति) s. f. 1. Power, strength, ability. 2. sakti, The energy or active power of a deity, personified as his wife, as Gaurī of Siva, Laksh̤mī of Vish̤ṇu. 3. The female organ as the counterpart of the phallick personification of Siva, and worshipped either literally or figuratively by a sect of Hindūs, thence termed saktas. (Wilson).

سنيہي saneh-ī स्नेही S̱. s. m. Friend, lover, mistress. S̱. سو adj. 1. sau (शत) A hundred. سوسرکاهونا sau sir kā honā, (lit. possessing a hundred heads; so that, if one or several be cut off, others still remain) Implies excessive perseve- rance, energy or obstinacy. 2. su (सु) in compos. Good; as, سوڐهال su-ḍhāl, adj. Neat, elegant. 3. sau, Like. See سا sā.

سسا sasā शश S̱. s. m. A hare.

سنڙسي saṅṛsī S̱. (संदंशिनी) s. f. Tongs, pincers.

سپاٴي sipāʼī P. (prop. سه پايه) A tripod, trevet, a three-legged stool, table, &c.

سرگين sargīn P s. m. Cow-dung.

سرمئي surma-ī P adj. Of the colour of surma, greyish.

سيد sed स्वेद S̱. s. (dakh.) Sweat.
