سلنا salnā S̱. (from शल or शल्य) v. n. To pierce, prick, perforate, enter.

سورا sūrā शूर S̱. s. m. A hero: see سور sūr, sign. 1. A wife thus addresses her husband, who is preparing for battle: سورا رن مين جايکي لوها کرو نسنک نامه چڙهي رنڐاپرو نا ته چڙهي کلنک Sūrā raṇ meṅ jāʼeke lohā karo nisank; nā muhi chaṛhe ranḍāparo, nā tuhi chaṛhe kalank. O hero, when you enter the combat, wield your sword without fear; so shall I never suffer widowhood, nor you disgrace.

سوک sok H s. m. The holes in a bedstead through which the strings for bracing it pass.

سناپٿ sunāpaṭ S̱. (from शून्य Empty, void) s. f. Stillness, dreariness.

سل بٿه sil-baṭṭa S̱. (शिला A stone, and पट्ट A stone for grinding on with a muller, &c.). s. m. Two stones with which spices, paint, &c. are ground.

سوچهند स्वछंद स्व Own, and छंद Opinion, intention, wish swa-chhand S. adj. Acting ac- cording to oneʼs own opinion or inclination, un- restrained, uncontrolled, independent, self-willed.

ساکهي sākhī साक्षी S̱. s. m. An evidence, a witness, an eyewitness.

سموات samawāt A (for سماوات) s. plur. (of سما) Skies.

سالـہ‍ا sālhā P plur. of سال sāl, Years, for years.

سوجهہ sojh H s. f. Straightness.
