سکارنا sakārnā स्वीकरण S̱. v. a. To accept (a bill of exchange, &c.).

سنڐاس sanḍās H s. m. A necessary, a water- closet (opening into the streets), a sink.

سانگ sāng S̱. (Sans. शंकु or शक्ति) s. f. A spear, or javelin, all of iron.

سورج sūraj सूर्य्य S̱. s. m. The sun. سورج گہن sūraj-gahan (सूर्य्यग्रहण) s. m. Eclipse of the sun.

سکل sukal S̱. (or sukl शुक्ल) adj. 1. White. سکل پچهہ sukal pachchh̤ (शुक्लपक्ष) s. m. The light half of a month, the fifteen days from new to full moon. 2. A title of Brāhmaṇs. ¶ sak- kal, s. f. (dakh.) A chain: see سانکر sānkar.

سن sun S̱. (शून्य Void, empty) adj. Insensible, without sensation, palsied. سن سان sun-sān, Void, dreary, desolate and silent. S. سن 1. शण saṇ, s. m. Name of a plant (Crota- laria juncea), a kind of flax. 2. सं san, prep. see s. سم sam, sign. 2.

سمادهہ samādh S (समाधि) s. f. 1. Tomb of a Jogī, particularly where Hindūs, from religious motives, submit to be buried alive. 2. An ex- ercise of austerity among Jogīs, whereby they are supposed to acquire the power of suspending during their pleasure the connexion between their soul and body.

سنجوگي sanjog-ī S (संयोगी) s. m. An ascetick who does not observe a vow of continence, but has a family.

سامگري सामयी sāmagrī S s. f. Furniture, tools, apparatus, articles, materials, scenery.

سباقت sabāḳat A s. f. See سبقت sabḳat.
